Veterinary Specialty Hospital’s Paige Phillips Graduates From Veterinary Management Institute at Purdue University
Cary, N.C. – April 16, 2006 – Paige Phillips, the director of nursing at the Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas (VSH), recently completed the Veterinary Management Institute (VMI), an intensive management program offered through Purdue University’s Executive Education Department in the Krannert School of Management and the American Animal Hospital Association.
Phillips was among 33 veterinarians and hospital managers who participated in the program. She attended four 3-day modules on human resource management, marketing management, financial management and strategic thinking. Upon completing the program, Phillips received a certificate in veterinary practice administration in addition to 72 hours of graduate-level management education.
VMI is designed for veterinarians and managers with some management experience who want graduate-level management education. The program focuses on current management needs and contemporary issues while preparing students for future management challenges in a highly competitive service industry. Since the program started in 1990, more than 1300 veterinarians and practice managers have attended VMI. |
