Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas Expands Emergency Team at North Raleigh Facility

Cary, N.C.  –July 6, 2007  –The Veterinary Specialty Hospital of the Carolinas (VSH) recently hired Dr. Camille Sherrod as a new emergency veterinarian at its north Raleigh facility.  Dr. Sherrod will be responsible for treating emergency and critical cases at the 24-hour facility.

Dr. Sherrod joins two other emergency doctors at the north Raleigh facility, open since September of 2006. She will be responsible for monitoring all hospitalized patients at night and on the weekends.  She will communicate with pet owners, treat referrals that are unable to make it to the hospital during the day and will also evaluate and treat walk-in emergency cases.

Dr. Sherrod is a graduate of North Carolina State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine in Raleigh, North Carolina.  Prior to joining VSH, Dr. Sherrod served as an assistant professor and director of veterinary technology at Newberry College in Newberry, South Carolina.  She has also worked as a small animal emergency veterinarian at South Carolina Veterinary Emergency Care in Columbia, South Carolina.  Dr. Sherrod also has extensive experience holding multiple veterinarian position at hospitals in Greenville, South Carolina and Fayetteville, North Carolina.
