Dr. Ben O'Kelley received his veterinary degree from North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. He completed a small animal medicine and surgery rotating internship at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in Grafton, MA and an emergency/critical care residency at Angell Animal Medical Center in Boston. Prior to joining VSH, he served as the Director of Emergency and Critical Care Services at Affiliate Animal Care in Chesapeake, VA.
Dr. O'Kelley has a particular interest in the treatment of life-threatening infections (sepsis) and bleeding disorders (especially inherited bleeding disorders).
From the moment I first stepped foot in a veterinary ER hospital, I knew I wanted to work with patients with severe and /or life-threatening illnesses. Nothing is quite as rewarding to me as seeing a patient fully recover from a truly life-threatening condition.
