Board Certified in Critical Care
Dr. Scott Wells received his veterinary degree from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. He spent his first post-graduate year in a general practice before discovering his passion for emergency medicine. Four years of working at emergency hospitals made him realize that he wanted to take his training beyond what he could learn on his own. He decided to move to Boston to take a three-year residency position at the New England Animal Medical Center under the supervision of critical care specialists and alongside specialists in internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Wells is also the head of the internship program at VSH which has been in place since July of 2008.
What sets VSH apart from other hospital is that VSH is able to take a multi-discipline approach to medicine. We're able to get input from various specialists to help with the management of each pet's care.
