Dr. David Lee, a board certified surgeon, joined VSH in 1999. He graduated from the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine and then completed an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine Companion Animal Hospital. He came to North Carolina to first complete an anesthesia and then surgical residency at the North Carolina State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
Dr. Lee works with all types of surgical patients including those with orthopedic, intestinal, oncologic, thoracic, and neurologic diseases. Due to his own background in sports, he has a special affinity for sports related injuries in pets such as cranial cruciate ligament rupture, fractures, joint replacement, and intervertebral disc herniation.
I believe our staff sets VSH apart from other hospitals. I couldn't do my job without the help of the technical staff including the surgery nurses in the operating room and the ICU nursing staff who take care of recovering and hospitalized patients. I know they care for our patients the way they would like their loved ones cared for, four feet or two.
