Continuing Education Events for Primary Care Veterinarians

Join us February 27th at 6pm as Dr. Sarita Miles and Dr. Melanie Jarrett present…

“Diagnosis and Management of Seizures”
Dr. Miles will discuss the prevalence, clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and current recommendations for treatment of seizures. She will also cover monitoring recommendations and review available anti-epileptic medications, discuss dosing and appropriate selections for first-line versus add on medications to help optimize therapeutic results. A brief portion of this talk also covers emergency management of seizures, as well as “non-traditional” therapies that are current “hot topics” in the veterinary community.
“Anesthesia for Patients with CNS Disease”
Dr. Jarrett will focus on the development of sedation and anesthetic plans for patients with CNS disease, including both drug and monitoring protocols. She will review which anesthetic drugs are safe and which drugs should be avoided and why. Additionally, she will review the dynamics of intracranial pressure and how this impacts the anesthetized veterinary patient.
