Dr. Sarah Leigh is one of the emergency doctors here at VSH who works primarily during the day at the Cary location.  Her focus is to provide timely and collaborative specialty care for those pets whose family veterinarian feels this level of care is indicated.  She enjoys working with the primary care veterinarians in the local area to help provide the services that VSH has to offer their patients. Other responsibilities include providing emergency care for pets whose families are new to the area and do not yet have an established veterinarian or situations requiring urgent attention that cannot wait for an appointment.    Dr. Leigh’s areas of interest include internal medicine and looking at each patient as a whole being. She truly enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine and finds great reward in coordinating care that is specialized to each individual’s needs.

Dr. Leigh grew up along the west coast of Florida and remains an avid Florida State University fan (tough job when immersed amongst the Wolfpack)  In her free time, he enjoys running, working out and spending time with her husband, 3 children, 1 rescue mutt (Shy), 2 cats (Joseph and Mary – aptly named after showing up as stray kittens on Christmas Eve) and 4 backyard chickens.  In 2018, Dr. Leigh’s four legged family will be growing when they start their small family farm in Fuquay-Varina.
