Dr. Laura Garlow assists the Internal Medicine Service with the care of hospitalized/transferred patients. She is interested in immune mediated and infectious diseases. This interest stemmed from her own dog’s diagnosis of Immune Mediated Thrombocytopenia when she was in vet school. She also particularly enjoys the communication aspect of her role, and strives to help and support owners make some of the difficult and stressful decisions that can accompany having a hospitalized pet.
Dr. Garlow grew up in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She and her husband welcomed a baby boy in June. Their goldendoodle and Siamese cat are not quite sure what to make of the new tiny human. In her free time, Dr Garlow enjoys cooking, listening to podcasts, going on hikes, and photography.
